Pendleton Round-Up Plans to Ride Out Pandemic
Updated: May 13, 2020
Organizers of Oregon's largest annual rodeo is planning to move forward with the 110th Pendleton Round-Up this September. A statement on the Pendleton Round-Up's website reads, "There is no mistaking that the challenge at this moment is grand. We know that navigating through these trying times is very complicated, not only for us but for everyone. Remember, we are all in this together. As an organization, we are staying up to date with all the information and planning accordingly." Pendleton Round-Up President Randy Bracher assures that the Board of Directors is actively meeting with county health officials, county commissioners, and state officials. A growing number of rodeos across the nation and Canada have canceled recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there is hope that there will be a 110th annual Pendleton Round-Up, Bracher says they will do everything in their power to comply with state mandates, and they are prepared to follow protocols for a "modified event". The Pendleton Round-Up is scheduled for September 16 - 19, and tickets are available now through the event's website.
