2020 NHSRA Finals moves to Lazy E Arena
Updated: Jun 10, 2020
The National High School Rodeo Association, NHSRA, announced a new home for the National High School Finals Rodeo on June 5, 2020. Officials have selected the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma for the event that will be held July 17-23, 2020.
In a press release, officials said that the Lazy E Arena met all requirements and needs for camping, stalling, and other facilities. They noted that Lazy E Arena was one of the first venues to host events as soon as the restrictions surrounding COVID-19 were lifted. The NHSRA officials stated this meant the staff had more experience with safety protocols.
“We appreciate the abundant amount of support from the venues that reached out to the National High School Rodeo Association to host the 2020 event. The representatives from each of the venues who reached out had one thing on their minds and that was to put on a safe rodeo for the kids,” James Higginbotham, NHSRA Executive Director said.
According to the NHSRA website, the 2020 Finals Rodeo was originally to be held in Lincoln, Nebraska.
